Another e(vil)bay purchase — this time in the hope that maybe from the ashes of two Howe-Ormes, one could rise. However after talking it through with some folks, it will stay as it is.
This appears to be the entry-level model as it has no decorative appointments at all.
This poor little’un has been through a lot. It has several cleated cracks on the back, sides, and top; and it does look like the neck will require a reset before even bothering to tune it up. Part of the sound-hole binding is missing. It has extensive pick wear although the pickguard is intact and in good shape. There has been some neck work done as well evidenced by three dowels on the heel.
Action is OK up to the 7th fret, played dolce it sounds just like a harp. A lot of punch for a little package.
Even so it has all-original hardware. Howe-Orme label is present and intact.

Has a gig-bag.
$400
Will consider selling both Howe-Orme mandolins as a package.
