Look, I’ve always wanted a Martin. Could have had many, but didn’t want to settle — and there is no way to afford one of the coveted ones. So this little nugget came up in an auction and I managed to snag it, though it needed a smidge of attention.
Often mistakenly billed as a mini-Martin or a kids guitar — she is nothing of the sort. While it can be strung (and sound wonderfully Martinish) in standard tuning, it is meant to be tuned up a minor third G-G.
You can read more about them in this Vintage Guitar Magazine article.
She comes with a factory repair on the bass-side, they matched the grain almost perfectly and you won’t see it unless you’re looking for it. There is some obvious pick wear and the normal dings a 70 year old instrument would have. The bridge needed regluing, but that’s about it. Strung up with silk & steel and she sings.
Comes with the original hardshell case in excellent condition.
