1920 Gibson A4 Mandolin – SOLD

The Home has seen a lot of instruments come through its doors. There are some that have left that we regret having to let go. The home’s ‘mascot’, a 1915 Gibson A4, mandolin certainly counts among them (it was sold to finance the 1925 F4). So when the opportunity came up when someone offered up another as a partial trade for a guitar, we leapt at the chance.

Much like its predecessor, this A4 has no structural issues whatsoever. No cracks. Very little play wear. Neck is in good shape. Original hardware down to the solid bridge. Sounds deep and woody, just like you want these old Gibsons to sound.

The only knock is that the pickguard mount disintegrated at some point leaving the pickguard itself supported just by the pins into the neck/bridge. It’s stable, but don’t set a coffee cup on it.

Has the original case with some minor wear to the interior, but handles and latches all work.

No FON.
